AstralPool Mineral Guard is a smart secondary sanitising solution designed to help reduce chlorine use while keeping your pool water clean, clear, and healthy. Using natural mineral ions and advanced controlled release technology, Mineral Guard provides ongoing protection against bacteria and algae without the hassle of powered systems or constant water testing.
At the heart of the system is AstralPool’s Nature2 technology. Its engineered alumina core acts as a porous reservoir that releases silver and copper ions gradually into the water flow. Silver works as an effective antimicrobial to help control bacteria, while copper helps prevent algae growth. Together, they provide powerful secondary sanitisation for up to 6 months per cartridge.
Unlike many other mineral ionisers, AstralPool Mineral Guard requires no power source. It works purely from water flow, making it simple to operate and easy to maintain. Thanks to its patented Controlled Release Technology, mineral levels stay below the staining threshold, so there is no need for copper testing and no risk of staining when used correctly. It also helps protect your pool shell warranty by avoiding the excessive metal levels that can cause issues with other systems.
Mineral Guard must always be used alongside a primary sanitiser such as chlorine or a saltwater chlorinator. Australian standards recommend never using less than 1ppm of chlorine. Once installed, simply replace the cartridge every 6 months for ongoing support and healthier pool water.
